Process library
Download LIBPF demos based on real-world processes
The LIBPF Process Library is a collection of downloadable process models that cover a number of a relevant chemical and energy production processes.
Currently the following processes are available:
- Carbon capture: Power-plant configurations for carbon dioxide separation
- Inorganic: Purification process based on multistage, counter-current acid washings
- Micro-turbine: Stationary power generation system
- MCFC-GT: Stationary power generation system based on Molten Carbonate Fuel Cells with gas turbine integration
- Polyols from Biomass: Conversion of biomass feed-stocks to polyols of short-chain carbohydrates
- Salt and Pepper: The simplest process model, ever
- Waste-to-energy: An innovative process for the gasification of civil / industrial wastewater treatment dried waste sludge based on two-chamber gasification
For each of these, an interactive model developed with LIBPF 0.9, complete with source code and description is available.
The requirements if you wish to install and run the downloadable demos are:
- Operating system: Windows 2000, XP, Vista or Windows 7
- Administrator access to the computer during installation
- [optional] Excel 2003 or later for displaying the mass and energy balance table
- [optional] OpenOffice 3.0 or later for displaying the mass and energy balance table
If you just want to see how it works without installing any software, just have a look at this screencast which shows how the LIBPF demos are installed and run (note: you will need to install the Adobe Flash player to watch it).
